Request lists in Audit Ally can be quite extensive and requests can span multiple owners, statuses, and request types. To help users stay focused and work efficiently, Audit Ally provides robust Search, Filter, and Sort options within the request list. These tools allow users to quickly narrow their view, prioritize work, and return to commonly used views with minimal effort.

Searching Requests

The Search bar at the top of the request list allows users to locate requests by entering keywords or phrases. Search is not case‑sensitive and supports both partial matches and exact phrasing.

Search operates on visible request details, including request titles, request IDs, control owners, assigned auditors, request types, and request statuses. Search does not include file names or comments within requests.

Search can be used on its own or in combination with filters and saved presets. When a preset is active, search results layer on top of the preset’s saved sort and filter criteria.

Filtering Requests

Filters allow users to refine the request list by focusing on specific request attributes. Multiple filters can be applied at the same time, and the request list dynamically updates as selections are made.

The following filter options are available:

  • New Comments

  • High Priority

  • Assignee

  • Status

  • Request Type

  • Unlinked Sample Requests

An unlinked sample request is a sample request that is not linked to a population.

Filter Options by Category

Some filters include additional selection options:

Assignee

  • My Assignments

  • Unassigned Auditor

  • Unassigned Client

Status

  • Accepted

  • Fulfilled

  • Outstanding

  • Returned

Request Type

  • Evidence

  • Population

  • Sample

Combining Multiple Filters

Users can apply multiple filters simultaneously, and the request list will continue to narrow with each selection.

For example:

  • Selecting Fulfilled displays only fulfilled requests.

  • Adding Population narrows the list to fulfilled population requests.

  • Selecting My Assignments further limits the view to fulfilled population requests assigned to the current user.

This layered filtering approach allows users to focus quickly on exactly what needs attention.

Filter Persistence

Filters do not persist across sessions by default. Applied filters remain active while you are working within the current engagement, but reset when you leave the engagement or start a new session. To reuse filters easily in the future, they must be saved as part of a preset.

Sorting Requests

In addition to filtering, users can control how requests are ordered using Sort options. Only one sort option can be applied at a time.

Requests can be sorted by:

  • Auditor

  • Category

  • Client Owner

  • Due Date

  • Last Fulfilled

  • Request ID

  • Status

The request list defaults to Request ID when a user first logs into Audit Ally. When a different sort option is selected, Audit Ally retains that selection for future interactions with the request list.

Saving Sort & Filter Presets

Audit Ally allows users to save frequently used combinations of sort and filter settings as presets.

To save a preset:

  1. Select your preferred sort option.

  2. Apply all relevant filter options.

  3. Click the bookmark icon next to the sort option.

  4. Enter a name for the preset (up to 25 characters) and select Save.

Presets are user‑specific and apply globally across all engagements, allowing you to reuse the same views wherever you work.

Using Presets with Search

Selecting a preset instantly applies its saved sort and filter criteria. Search can still be used while a preset is active, allowing you to further refine results without modifying the preset itself.

Clearing and Deleting Presets

To remove a preset from the current view, select the active preset again or choose Clear All. This clears all applied filters while retaining the default or last‑used sort order.

If a preset is no longer needed, it can be deleted by selecting the trash can icon next to the preset name.
