Auditors may need to share templates, guidance, or reference materials with clients to help them respond to a specific request. Audit Ally allows auditors to upload auditor‑provided support directly to an individual request, ensuring that all guidance remains centralized, traceable, and clearly associated with the correct request.

Auditor‑provided files are tied to a specific request, not the engagement as a whole, and are immediately visible to the client once uploaded. This helps prevent confusion, keeps communication organized, and ensures both auditors and clients are aligned on the documentation being referenced.

Ways to Provide Auditor‑Provided Support

Audit Ally provides two options for uploading auditor‑provided files to a request. Both options attach files directly to the selected request and make them immediately available to the client.

Option 1: Upload Files from the Request Details

This option is best when you are already working within a specific request.

  1. Open the relevant engagement and navigate to the Request List.

  2. Select the request that requires auditor‑provided support.

  3. In the request detail view, locate the paperclip icon beneath the request status.

  4. Select the paperclip icon to open the Upload Files modal.

  5. Upload files using one of the following methods:

    • Click to upload files or folders from your device

    • Drag and drop files or folders into the modal

  6. Confirm the uploaded file names, then select Done.

Once uploaded, the files will appear in the Auditor Provided Files section of the request and are immediately visible to the client.

Option 2: Drag and Drop Files from the Request List

This option allows auditors to quickly attach files without opening request details.

  1. Open the relevant engagement and navigate to the Request List.

  2. Drag files from your computer into the Audit Ally interface.

  3. Hover over a request until it becomes highlighted, indicating where the files will be uploaded.

  4. Drop the files onto the highlighted request.

After the upload completes, you will receive a confirmation notification indicating:

  • The number of files uploaded

  • The request ID the files were attached to

This confirmation helps auditors verify that the support was uploaded to the correct request.

Client Visibility and File Tracking

All auditor‑provided files:

  • Are immediately visible to clients

  • Appear only within the specific request to which they were uploaded

Auditors can also track whether clients have viewed the files:

  • In the Auditor Provided Files section, hover over the eye icon next to a file

  • A tooltip will display who viewed the file and when

This visibility helps auditors confirm that shared guidance or templates have been reviewed.

Managing or Removing Auditor‑Provided Files

If files are uploaded in error or are no longer needed, auditors can remove them from the request.

  1. Open the relevant request.

  2. Select the paperclip icon to reopen the Upload Files modal.

  3. Remove any files that are no longer necessary.

  4. Close the modal to save changes.

Removed files will no longer be visible to the client.
